An ironic way to die would be this: you're a leading scientist and you've just developed a medicine to make humans immortal. You decide to give it to a test subject (human) and then attempt to kill it in order to test it. You feed it to the test subject, and then stab it. The man, now enraged and immortal, retaliates and kills you, and then proceeds to kill all of mankind.
